Our Mission The mission of the LMPD SAFE HARBOR is to provide the LGBTQ community with signage and resources that provide easily accessible safety information.
LMPD SAFE HARBOR is designed to further enhance the relationship between the LMPD, the LGBTQ community and local businesses by providing LMPD SAFE HARBOR decals and signage to local businesses and organizations and encouraging those entities to clearly post them at the entrances to their premise as a symbol of safety for the victims of LGBTQ crimes and a warning to those who commit those crimes.
While Louisville is generally one of the safest and most compassionate cities in the United States, crimes and discrimination related to the City's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) residents and visitors unfortunately still occur.
The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) is committed to the safety of all LGBTQ residents and visitors.
