Have you ever seen someone that you would consider dating if HE/SHE did not have locks? and I don't get why you say "everyone knows there is a stigma"... yet i view them as unsanitary and very unattractive ego a few papers in university on primal attraction.
the findings of social anthropological studies tell us the way we maintain our hair affects prospective mates on a subconscious level.
Guys "Perception of you" is will she or won't she put out. To me, nothing adds more to a woman's visual appeal than long, beautiful hair. Not saying I wouldn't go there, but she would have to be very appealing in other ways to overcome that deficit. I get what you're saying gardenias, but I don't see how that would attract people with unhealthy intentions because your hair is matted.
Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc.Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing...Yes, I do have dreadlocks and I plan on keeping them for the rest of my life.I'm not sure if my choice of hairstyle has ever actually kept me from getting dates or not, but I'm sure it has for some people.I guess I should have worded it differently, but to people who are ignorant about dreaded hair(which is most people), there is a stigma! I would imagine that there are men and women who would not date someone with dreadlocks, but who cares. If your hair looks good and you feel good about it, the men will come your way.
I get what you're saying gardenias, but I don't see how that would attract people with unhealthy intentions because your hair is matted. I think sooner rather than later I will locks my hair.and that defines your status of being desireable/undesireable mating material.ratty knots of hair puts you in an entirely different league and most likely will attract those not seeking out healthy associations.Does this hinder your perception, and stop you from pursuing someone because of their dreadlocks? You're 18, guys are going to be approaching you for a piece of booty, they don't care if you have dreadlocks. Women my age are not likely to have dreadlocks, and very few have facial piercings (thank goodness).there was an actual case a few years back here, where a young man (twenties I think) tried to enter a secure area in the Pentagon, and was turned away (while his companions were admitted) because he had shaved words or designs into the side of his hair on one side.
